Kowloon Bay
Masterplan

International competition of ideas layout of to reorganize Kowloon Bay

Architecture and space, the spirit of the ancient dragon, an enveloping dynamic form to represent the very essence of the philosophy of Hong Kong life, it’s present and it’s future.
Life in an innovative space, immersed in a vital multi-functional fluid, the throbbing heart of the city.
The particularity of the project is the structure in horizontal and vertical layers destined for the various functions. The whole operation is based on the traditional oriental symbol of the dragon, and is divided into firstly “Head” (with three theatres varying in capacity for opera, avant-garde form of  art and drama, two auditoriums for musical performances and conference centre), secondly “Body” (with museums for different forms of art, exhibition galleries and art schools) and lastly “Tail” (where residential and commercial services, offices and spaces for entertainment are grouped together) the whole area is dotted and intersected with ample spaces for public parks.
