Water Sport Center

The water-sports complex arose from a joint venture between the Municipal Council and the Italian Swimming Federation for the development and  promotion of top class swimming. The 33x25 metres pool is suitable for national and international federal events in all strokes, allowing records to be homologated and courses for sub-aqua trai-ning. The pool’s special feature is the movable pontoon which allows a rapid transfor-mation of the water surface to ensure it can be used transversely as well. The 20x10x14 metres pool is intended as a learner pool.

Another two pools are sites along-side the others: a 10x8 metres one for treatment of muscular problems and one for hydro-massage.

To complete the facilities of the water-sports centre and also to help towards manage-ment costs there are: a restaurant, a solarium, a physio-therapy centre, turkish bath and gymnasia. Te choise of plywood and sheets as structural elements has allowed the pro-blem of the cubic measurement of the pool surface to be managed and rationalized to the best. The idea was to build a totally deconstructable roof that could be partly opened during the summer.
